Owensboro Health’s annual “Sounds of the Season” program is back, bringing live holiday performances to lobbies across the health system through Christmas Day. The series is presented in partnership with the Arts in Healing Program and the Owensboro Symphony’s Music On Call initiative.

Several performances will also air on Owensboro Health Regional Hospital’s in-house television system so patients can enjoy the music from their rooms.

Music On Call brings live music into healthcare settings to support emotional well-being for patients, families, and staff. Musicians from the Owensboro Symphony volunteer their time, and additional performers include piano students, school groups, and regional artists.

Pianist Diane Earle will perform nearly daily at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital through Christmas Day, typically from 8 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m.

Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center and Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital will each host a special Music On Call performance in December. Twin Lakes will also welcome several local school groups to help spread seasonal cheer.

“Sounds of the Season is one more way we support emotional and spiritual healing during the holidays,” said Travis Williams, OH director of pastoral care. “This program reminds our patients and team members they are not alone this season. The music lifts us all.”

Music On Call is funded through the Owensboro Health Community Health Investments Grant Program.

Owensboro Health is also inviting families to visit Christmas at Panther Creek, a drive-thru display featuring more than 500,000 lights. The health system is sponsoring free admission on December 11. The display is open nightly from 6-9 p.m. through Jan. 2 at Panther Creek Park, 5160 Wayne Bridge Road.
