An evening of chef-crafted courses, themed cocktails, and romantic pairings is set to take over the Owensboro Convention Center next month, offering couples and friends alike a reason to slow down and savor something special.

Cork & Cuisine: Passionate Pairings will return to the Owensboro Convention Center on Feb. 12, beginning at 6 p.m., offering a four-course dining experience paired with wines and spirits in celebration of Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s gatherings.

“Cork and Cuisine gives guests a reason to slow down and enjoy great food together,” said Jeff Esposito, general manager of the Owensboro Convention Center. “The pairings and menu make the night feel special without feeling formal.”

The evening will open with a course titled “Love at First Bite,” featuring a blue crab cake served with house remoulade sauce, a caprese skewer with cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, balsamic drizzle, and house seasoning, and a maple pecan candied bacon strip. The appetizers will be paired with a cocktail called Love Potion No. 9.

The second course, “The Second Date,” will include a Sweetheart Strawberry Salad made with baby greens, feta cheese, sliced strawberries, candied pecans, and a strawberry champagne vinaigrette, served alongside a honey croissant. The pairing for the course is The Slow Burn Martini.

The main course, titled “Perfectly Paired,” will feature a petit grilled filet topped with blackberry demi-glace, a ten-spice chicken breast with green onion and honey mustard vinaigrette sauce, a twice-baked potato with bacon, sour cream, smoked gouda cheese, and chives, and baby carrots glazed with honey and butter. The wines paired with the entrée are Terrazas Malbec Altos Del Plata Mendoza and The Dreaming Tree Chardonnay.

Dessert, called “This Thing Called Love,” will consist of New York cheesecake topped with house-made caramel, sliced bananas, and candied pecans, paired with a drink named Black Forest Kiss.

The event is sponsored by RYco Jewelers and What Chefs Want.

Tickets are $80.50 per person or $140 for two, with all fees included. Tickets are available online at OwensboroTickets.com and at the Owensboro Convention Center Box Office. The event is reservation-only and open to guests 21 and over.
