Red Swing Coffee has closed its downtown Owensboro location and is reopening Monday morning at 1416 Breckenridge Street with a new layout, new menu, and new energy.
Co-owners Brandon and Brittney Dukes hosted a soft opening over the weekend and said they’re excited to officially welcome the community beginning February 2. The new location features a pickup window, on-site parking, a redesigned coffee bar with charging stations, and cozy seating nooks — all part of a full renovation of the former Lizzie’s Diner space.
The move also marks a shift in Red Swing’s offerings. The Breckenridge location features a brand-new menu focused on in-house scratch-made biscuit and bagel sandwiches, alongside traditional coffee and bakery favorites.
“It’s a different menu, but it’s good stuff,” Brandon said. “We’re making our own bagels and biscuits from scratch in-house, so we can amp up our breakfast sandwich offerings.”
The Dukes said the location solves several challenges they faced downtown — mainly parking and space — and brings the east side more in line with their popular west side shop at 2803 Parrish Avenue.
Red Swing’s Breckenridge and Parrish Avenue locations are open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.
