Residents can leave a permanent mark on the future Senior Community Center of Owensboro-Daviess County through a new engraved brick fundraiser tied to the facility now under construction.
The Senior Community Center is selling engraved bricks that will be permanently installed on the campus of its new center, located at the corner of Carter Road and West 2nd Street. The facility is scheduled to open in September 2026.
Bricks are available in two sizes: 4-by-8-inch bricks for $125 and 8-by-8-inch bricks for $500. Purchasers may also add an optional “mini” brick keepsake for an additional $50. Orders must be submitted by April 17.
The 4-by-8-inch bricks include up to three lines of text, with a maximum of 20 characters per line. The 8-by-8-inch bricks allow up to six lines of text, also with a 20-character limit per line.
SCC Executive Director Dr. David Tucker said the bricks offer an opportunity to honor parents, grandparents, teachers, coaches, mentors, and others whose legacies have made an impact.
“We invite everyone to take advantage of this limited-time opportunity to celebrate families, individuals, businesses, organizations, churches, clubs, schools, teams, and groups of all kinds,” Tucker said. “Let an engraved brick on our Legacy Walk be part of the stories for yourself and your loved ones.”
Orders can be placed online through a secure PayPal portal, which also includes a printable order form. Orders may also be submitted in person at the Senior Community Center office, located at 1650 W. 2nd St., between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. during weekdays. Payment is required at the time of order and may be made by cash, check, or credit card.
