A new Starbucks is coming to downtown Owensboro, with plans to open inside the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Downtown Owensboro/Waterfront.

The coffee shop will be open to both hotel guests and the general public and will feature Starbucks’ full menu of handcrafted beverages and food, along with mobile ordering. Hotel owner and developer BryantCorp announced Thursday that Starbucks will occupy the hotel’s first floor, replacing the former Out of the Blue Bourbon Shop.

The Starbucks is expected to open later this summer, following the completion of a new second-floor fitness center overlooking the Ohio River. NeSmith said the project will also bring new jobs downtown, with plans to hire and train 10-15 team members, including baristas and supervisors.

Local economic development leaders say the addition of a nationally recognized brand is another sign of downtown’s continued momentum.

“Downtown Owensboro continues to gain strength through steady, intentional reinvestment,” said Claude Bacon, president and CEO of the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation. “Recognizable brands often serve as signals of market confidence, and continued local investment from companies like BryantCorp demonstrates a long-term commitment to downtown that benefits residents, workers, visitors, and neighboring businesses alike.”

BryantCorp built the downtown Hampton Inn & Suites in 2014 as part of the broader redevelopment of Owensboro’s Ohio River waterfront. The company also owns and operates the renovated Hampton Inn Owensboro South on Salem Drive.

Additional details, including an official opening date and hours of operation for the Starbucks, will be announced as construction and tenant build-out near completion.
