Families gathered Friday afternoon at Smothers Park for the annual STAND Up 4 Children event, a community-focused effort to raise awareness about child abuse prevention during Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The free event featured a variety of family-friendly activities, including a bouncy house, petting zoo, face painting, food, and giveaways. Community organizations were also on site providing educational resources and information aimed at supporting children and families.

Hosted by the Green River Area Development District’s Community Collaboration for Children Regional Network in partnership with the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ Department for Community Based Services, the event is held annually each April to promote awareness and prevention efforts.

Local sponsors and partners contributed to the event’s activities and outreach, helping connect families with services and resources in a relaxed, family-oriented setting.

The STAND Up 4 Children event is part of a broader effort throughout April to highlight child abuse prevention and encourage community involvement in supporting safe, healthy environments for children.
