The Owensboro Sportscenter will host the Arena Wars Fighting Series on August 8, bringing a night of live combat sports entertainment featuring MMA, boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, bare-knuckle fighting, and submission wrestling.
Founded in 1998 by U.S. Marine Corps veteran Matt Phillips, Arena Wars Fighting Series has featured emerging fighters from across the country and has aired on platforms including NBC Sports and FITE TV.
Organizers said the Owensboro event will feature a lineup of rising competitors and multiple fight styles throughout the evening.
“We are extremely excited to bring Arena Wars to Owensboro,” Operations Manager Fred Rodriguez said. “This community has a strong sports culture and an incredible energy. We’re honored to become part of the Owensboro community and give fans an event they will remember for years to come.”
Officials with the Owensboro Sportscenter said the event is part of an effort to bring new programming and entertainment opportunities to the venue.
Arena Wars representatives said the organization also plans to partner with local businesses and sponsors while creating opportunities for up-and-coming fighters.
Additional details, including ticket information, fight announcements, and special guest appearances, are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
