Spirit Halloween appears set to return to Owensboro soon, with signage now in place at the former Big Lots building at 4610 Frederica Street.
An “Opening Soon” sign first appeared in the storefront window several weeks ago, directing customers to SpiritHalloween.com and inviting applicants to apply for seasonal jobs through Work4Spirit.com. The window sign also includes a QR code that links to a hiring page listing the Owensboro location at 4610 Frederica Street.
More recently, a prominent Spirit Halloween storefront sign has been installed on the building’s facade, further indication that preparations are underway for the seasonal retailer’s return.
While Spirit Halloween has not announced an opening date for the Owensboro store, the company’s online store locator currently says customers should “check back after July 30” to find local store locations and opening information.
Spirit Halloween has operated in several different Owensboro locations over the years.
According to the company, Spirit Halloween is the nation’s largest Halloween retailer, operating more than 1,500 seasonal stores across North America. Since 1983, the company has offered costumes, accessories, décor, props, and exclusive animatronics, with stores typically opening in late summer ahead of the Halloween season.
Spirit Halloween also operates Spirit of Children, a charitable program that has raised more than $127 million since 2006 to support Child Life programs at partner children’s hospitals across the country. Funds raised through local stores remain in their respective communities to help pediatric patients and their families.
