The Kentucky Department of Agriculture is partnering with other state organizations to bring together Kentucky agriculture producers and buyers for networking and market channel education. A “Grower-Buyer MeetUp” is set for Nov. 10 in Owensboro.

“Kentucky farm families have an excellent opportunity to network with one another and develop relationships with potential buyers at Grower-Buyer MeetUps across the state,” said Commissioner of Agriculture Dr. Ryan Quarles. “Helping agriculture producers find new markets for their goods is one of the ways Kentucky agriculture continues to flourish.”

The MeetUp is a free regional workshop focused on growers, buyers, and distributors that have operations in the western region of Kentucky. It will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Daviess County Extension Office (4800A New Hartford Road).

“We’re looking forward to helping Kentucky farmers connect with buyers, and vice versa, to create meaningful partnerships in preparation for the 2023 season,” said Olivia Vogel, Local Food Project Coordinator with the Kentucky Center for Agriculture and Rural Development.

The MeetUp will include more than a dozen buyers of Kentucky produce ranging across restaurants, institutions, and distributors. Space is limited at the free event. Individuals are encouraged to register online here.
