If you’ve ever searched for a wedding or event space, you know there’s an overwhelming number of things to consider. A new venue, developed by a familiar business, hopes to tick all the boxes – right here in Owensboro.

White Chateau, a wedding venue house, is an expansion of Cecil Farms. Known for producing quality fruits and vegetables for more than 40 years and distributing them to groceries, markets, schools, and co-ops, Cecil Farms is growing something new: a unique location for couples to say “I do.”

The 2,500 square-foot structure is still in the construction stage but with completion planned in the coming months, 2019 dates are starting to book up and those early-bookers have a lot to look forward to.

“Sitting on a beautiful landscape of rolling country hills, the sunset view is breathtaking,” said Suzanne Cecil White, Cecil Farms’ director of operations. “This venue will provide classic elegance.”

Features abound at White Chateau: vaulted wood ceilings and a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, glass walls that open onto covered patios, multiple options for where to hold the ceremony, outdoor space, and room for nearly everyone you know.

And that’s just the aesthetics. For practical purposes, the venue also provides a catering kitchen, men’s and women’s restrooms and a brides quarters for getting ready. There’s even a 3-bedroom farmhouse on the property that can be rented, if needed.

“We’ve been working with a phenomenal team to bring this place to life,” White said. “L. Ruth Interior design is adding their magical touch to really fuse things together and blow you away in color and details.”

Laura Ruth Edge, the owner of L. Ruth Interior Design, is enthusiastic about the part she’s played in the project.

“Working with Suzanne has been so much fun,” Edge said. “From the moment she introduced the project to me with her hopes and dreams for the space, I knew this was going to be an awesome adventure with an outcome second to nothing in Owensboro.”

Edge has helped with decisions regarding color coordination from the interior to the exterior as well as design elements in the space such as windows, doors, finishes, and lighting among other things.

“Suzanne has a great vision for what she wants and I have been honored to be a contributor and sounding board for her on this project,” Edge said. “I have shared the vision of the project to the point where I can see and visualize the space acting as the most unique and spectacular venue backdrop for locals and out of town guests’ cherished life events.”

If you follow Cecil Farms on social media, you can tell they’re excited to be part of those life events. Members of the family-owned business recently took time to write positive notes and scripture on the building’s wooden frame, soon to be enclosed and protected.

Those moments were shared on Facebook and Instagram with the caption, “We have prayed over this space, we have prayed for the people who will enter it. We’ve written inside these walls, words that will forever be there, building strong foundations in FAITH, HOPE and most importantly, LOVE.”

If you’re curious about the White Chateau location, now is the perfect chance to sneak a peek.

“This fall is a great time for people to venture out to see,” said White. “Our u-pick pumpkin patch is open every Thursday-Saturday now and sits right in front of the building!”
