Nation’s Medicines on Highway 54 is currently being remodeled and enlarged according to pharmacist and building owner, Carl Lewis.

Lewis said the current building is around 10,000 sq. ft. and the remodel will add an additional 8,000 sq. ft. Lewis said the renovation will allow Nation’s to double in space so he can move his other business, All Care Equipment and Rentals, which is currently located just a half-mile east in Paradise Plaza, to the remodeled strip center. The project is slated to be complete in spring 2019.

Lewis said Gateway Crossing will actually face the neighboring Wendy’s and will have ample space for new tenants. Gary Maglinger of RE/MAX will be responsible for the new leases, Lewis said.

RE/MAX and Liberty Financial, the previous tenants of the building, left earlier this month.

RE/MAX relocated to 3115 Commonwealth Court. According to staff, the goal is to build a new office to house the realty company and, while a site has been found, plans have not yet been finalized.

According to Liberty Financial branch manager Heather Montgomery, the mortgage lending company is currently working out a temporary office downtown located at 100 St. Ann Street. Montgomery says the long-term plan is to build a new office near Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union, the lender’s parent company, but construction has not yet started.
