Restaurants, businesses offer discounts, free meals to veterans

In appreciation of Veterans Day on Nov. 11, many restaurants and businesses are offering discounted services, and complimentary or discounted meals and menu items as a way of saying “thank you” to those who have served. Listed below are just a few businesses that Owensboro Times is aware of. As always, it is recommended that you check with the Owensboro location prior to making a purchase to make sure they are participating.

Businesses and Services

Great Clips

Anyone can come into a U.S. Great Clips salon on Veterans Day, Nov. 11 to purchase a service and pick up a free haircut card, which can be gifted to a veteran. Thank a veteran free haircut cards are redeemable by veterans from Nov. 11 through Dec. 31 each year.

SportClips

Participating SportClips locations will offer free haircuts to active duty military and veterans (with valid ID) on Veterans Day, Nov.11. From now until Nov. 11, SportClips will also be donating $1 from every haircut service to the VFW’s SportClips “Help A Hero” Scholarship program.

Home Depot, Kirkland’s and Lowe’s offer veterans 10 percent off of their purchase every day with valid ID.

Target announced they will be offering a 10 percent discount on purchases, in-store and online, from Nov 4-12. Eligible guests can visit Target.com/military to register and receive the discount. (Some product exclusions apply; discount via a single-use coupon).

Tractor Supply Company will be offering customers, with a valid military ID or proof of service, and their dependents, 15 percent off their entire purchase on Nov. 11.

 

Restaurants

Applebee’s

Veterans and active duty military can select a free meal from a limited menu on Veteran’s Day. Provide proof of service required.

Bar Louie

Veterans and active duty military receive a free flatbread or burger on Sunday, Nov. 11.

Ben’s

This Amish-inspired soft pretzel bakery is offering veterans and active military a free Jumbo Soft Pretzel on Sunday, Nov. 11.

Buffalo Wild Wings

All day long on Sunday, Nov. 11, veterans and active duty military who dine-in at their local B-Dubs can receive a free order of traditional or boneless wings and a side of fries. At participating U.S. locations only.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Veterans receive a complimentary Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola® Cake dessert or Crafted Coffee beverage. Plus an opportunity for guests to make purchases that support Operation Homefront on Nov. 11.

Dunkin’ Donuts

On Nov. 11, veterans and active duty military can enjoy a free donut at Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide, no purchase necessary.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

On Veterans Day, Nov. 11, veterans receive a free combo meal card.

Little Caesars Pizza

On Nov. 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., veterans and active military members can receive a free $5 HOT-N-READY Lunch Combo.

LongHorn Steakhouse

Veterans receive a free appetizer or dessert (no purchase required, no restrictions). LongHorn offers an additional 10 percent off for guests that dine with Veterans on Nov. 11. The offer is good for veterans and active-duty military members. Proof of service required.

MOD Pizza

MOD is offering a free pizza or salad to veterans and active military members on Nov. 11.

O’Charley’s

Veterans and active duty military can stop into an location and get a free meal from their Veterans Day Thank You Menu on both Sunday, Nov. 11 and Monday, Nov. 12.
