Kentucky Legend now offers bourbon-inspired premium smoked sausage and bacon and they are also finalizing a bourbon glaze for Kentucky Legend hams, all inspired by the flavors of Oz Tyler Bourbon.

When Kentucky Legend decided it was time to offer customers a bourbon-inspired product, Owensboro’s O.Z. Tyler Distillery was an obvious choice, according to Brooklyn Maple, director of marketing for Kentucky Legend.

“We are literally neighbors and help each other any chance we get,” Maple said. “The partnership has been a wonderful opportunity for both of us and we are grateful they were so willing to meet with us when we originally reached out.”

Daniel Hewlette with visitor experience at O.Z. Tyler Distillery said the close proximity of the two businesses made the partnership a natural fit.

“We also work together on other community development projects and sponsorships, constantly bringing various ideas to each other to see how we can make positive changes in our hometown,” Hewlette said.

It only took one meeting for the two companies to nail down plans and begin the process of creating this new product, Maple said. The products are already available at Trunnell’s Farm Market. Maple said they are working to slot these in stores since approval for the bourbon formula was approved in September.

“Our goal is to be distributed in a local store near you in the summer of 2019,” Maple said.

After deciding to launch a bourbon series at Kentucky Legend, Maple said the company understood that there were other options to choose from when it came to selecting the bourbon brand, but to them, there was only one.

“We are so devoted to our community and the city of Owensboro that we wanted something unique to this area,” Maple said “O.Z. Tyler Distillery offered us all of this plus much more.”
