Gateway Commons will see three more stores open at its location off Highway 54, according to Fahr Juneja, partner and principal broker with Gulfstream Commercial Services. American Eagle Outfitters, General Nutrition Centers (GNC) and FFO Home (formerly Furniture Factory Outlet) will be moving into the new shopping and entertainment conglomerate by this summer.
“We’ve been working with each store for a while,” Juneja said. “American Eagle and GNC will go into the strip center and FFO is under construction. It should open sometime [in the latter half of] this summer.”
According to the FFO Home website, the store offers furniture and home goods at a 50 percent discount compared to prices at other chains of its kind. The primary inventory consists of living room, bedroom and dining room furniture, as well as a variety of mattresses and home accessories. FFO Home is in 68 locations across several states in the midwest.
Juneja said he believes each store will contribute greatly to the success at Gateway Commons. While American Eagle and GNC will be relocating from their current positions in Towne Square Mall, FFO will be a new face in Owensboro’s retail industry.
“The retailer for FFO came to us saying they felt Owensboro had a great market [for their store],” Juneja said. “We’re really excited to have them here.”
American Eagle and GNC will be located in the strip of retail space that sits near Hayden Road.
GNC will occupy about 1,200 square feet of space, while American Eagle will occupy around 5,500 square feet for its location. FFO will be a fairly larger store and is expected to boast around 20,000 square feet of commercial property to the north of Burke’s Outlet in Gateway Commons.
