Rumors began circulating once a Home Realty for sale sign was posted on the outside facade of Colby’s Fine Food and Spirits in downtown Owensboro. Restaurant owners took to social media Friday to clear up any confusion.

“Colby’s Fine Food & Spirits is NOT for sale and is NOT going out of business,” the post read. “In fact, both the restaurant and the deli are reporting record sales and we couldn’t be happier with how business is going.”

The post goes on to say that the Oddfellows building that has housed Colby’s for the last 31 years is for sale. According to the post, the sale does not include the business itself but does include the building and acquiring the current leases.
