Owensboro’s first tapas bar, Azucar Lounge, is opening up in downtown Owensboro. The restaurant will hold a soft opening Thursday night. Azucar Lounge will be located where The Hajimari Sushi Bar and Gambrinus Libation Emporium formerly resided at 116 West Second Street.
The owners of Azucar Lounge describe their restaurant as an “exotic yet nostalgic experience” and will serve crafted cocktails fitted to their name. Azucar, which means “sugar” in Spanish, means the tapas bar will serve a variety of sweet drinks.
Azucar will also serve dry cured meats and cheeses along with a variety of food options.
“With a wide selection of spirits, wines and beers, you are sure to find something you fancy at Azucar Tapas and Lounge,” they wrote.
Azucar will open at 5 p.m. Thursday.
