IHOP confirms plans to build on east side

According to building permits from Owensboro Metropolitan Planning Commission, a sign for IHOP is permitted for 3080 Highland Pointe Drive. Ganaway Contracting of Alpharetta, Ga., has picked up a permit to build the 4,621-square-foot restaurant.

Owensboro Times contacted IHOP’s corporate office who confirmed there are plans to have an Owensboro location but do not have a targeted date for opening.

According to the IHOP website, they have been in business for more than 61 years.

IHOP serves more than 14 different varieties of pancakes including Buttermilk, Chocolate Chip, Harvest Grain ‘N Nut®, New York Cheesecake and fruit-topped pancakes.

There are seven IHOPS located in Kentucky, but the closest one is located in Evansville, Ind.
