The Learning Tree daycare is the newest childcare center to open in Owensboro. Owner Christina Bolton is excited to bring another daycare option to the community and hopes to be fully operational in the next month or two.

The Learning Tree will be located at 2624 New Hartford Road in a newly remodeled building.

She said many people have asked her about reopening a daycare after she closed her previous location, Precious Angels Childcare, because of pregnancy complications.

“I was in Norton’s hospital on bed rest and couldn’t be at my daycare,” she said. “Since then I had so many people beg me to open another one. I pushed it off until now when I realized that at every job I went to, my passion was for children — that’s where my heart was.”

Aside from owning her own daycare, Bolton has a degree in early childhood education and has worked with young children for more than seven years.

“My goal is to provide the best childcare for the children enrolled at The Learning Tree,” she said. “We are here to provide teaching to the children that will help them get ready for when they start school.”

Bolton said a normal day at the daycare will consist of daily lessons, free play, time outside and snacks and meals.

The Learning Tree will be licensed to accept up to 35 children between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Fees are $135 weekly per child for ages 2-4 and $140 weekly for children ages six weeks to 2 years.
