Owensboro’s Peddlers Mall will be closing at the end of August. The store’s marketing director confirmed the news on Friday, saying the decision was a personal one that will only affect the Owensboro store, located at 601 Commerce Dr.

The last day for vendors to set up shop at Peddlers Mall will be Aug. 31, according to marketing director Taylor Logsdon.

“The vendors will still have a month for sales, and we will do some events before [the closing date],” Logsdon said.

Peddler’s Mall had the opportunity to renew its lease and decided not to, Logsdon said. A large part of that decision stemmed from the owner being elderly and in poor health, she added.

The decision to close was made fairly suddenly, and all vendors were made aware of the issue on Thursday. Logsdon said Peddlers Mall wanted the vendors to hear the news before the general public found out.

Logsdon said they are looking at other venues in the area to which they could potentially relocate, but there are no definite plans.
