Spectra, providers of Venue Management to the Owensboro Convention Center, received the 2020 Readers’ Choice Award from “ConventionSouth,” the national multimedia resource for planning events in the South. This is the fifth time the venue has received the award.

Throughout the year, meeting professionals nominated more than 3,000 meeting sites that provide exemplary service for group events, according to Spectra. The nominated sites were then compiled on an online ballot where meeting professionals and fans were asked to vote for the best of the best.

“We are extremely honored to be one of 14 hospitality organizations across the state of Kentucky to receive this award, and I am personally proud of our team at the Owensboro Convention Center for continuing to provide excellence service for our planners and their guests,” said Laura Alexander, Spectra General Manager.

“ConventionSouth” Associate Publisher, Ashleigh Osborne said the value in receiving the prestigious recognition is that it comes from the country’s top meeting professionals who hold events in the South.

“These planners demand the highest level of customer service and quality facilities, and they have contributed in determining that the Owensboro Convention Center indeed displays the commitment to professionalism, creativity and service that they require,” Osborne said.

The Owensboro Convention Center will be featured as an award recipient in the December 2020 Awards Issue of “ConventionSouth” magazine.
