Blitz Boutique survived the shutdowns during 2020 and has expanded to offer even more retail and salon space.

Owner Lindsey Duncan took over the boutique salon and spa two years ago, and originally the boutique was inside the salon. During the start of the pandemic when the salon was shut down for three months, the retail space beside Duncan opened up.

“I was hesitant to move the boutique to its own space during the middle of a pandemic but I knew I needed to do something because I would also need to spread my hairdressers out when we came back work due to COVID-19,” she said. “I wanted to ensure all of my 16 hairdressers were able to come back to work safely for them and our clients.”

Now, the salon and spa is located at 225 Williamsburg Square and the boutique is at 227 Williamsburg Square.

“Originally when we were inside the salon we carried clothes and accessories,” Duncan said. “Now that we have over 2500 square feet of retail space we carry kids clothes, women’s clothes sizes up to 5x, gifts, and home decor.”

She said the store carries exclusive brands to Owensboro and they plan to keep expanding.

The salon has 16 booths and five private suites. While Duncan said the salon is not full, she does not plan to hire until after the pandemic.

“I like having plenty of space to where everyone who enters feels safe,” she said.

Duncan said she also could not run the store with out her mother Melissa Vargason, who also acts as her boutique manager.

“I couldn’t do any of it without her,” she said.
