All Family Video locations will be closing permanently, the company announced Tuesday evening. Owensboro had one Family Video located at 1212 JR Miller Blvd.
According to a release from Family Video’s parent company Highland Ventures, LTD, the decision to shut down all 250+ remaining stores for good was due to the impact of COVID-19 — both because of the lower foot traffic and the lack of movie releases.
According to the company, stores have begun liquidation sales and each location will close one all items are sold.
