Kona Ice is coming to Owensboro, and new owners Jared and Melissa Edmonds are excited to spread some cheer from their mobile Kona truck with the ultimate goal of giving back to the community.
Their first appearance will be this weekend at the Thompson-Berry Soccer Complex during a tournament, and Jared said he’s already been contacting businesses about future stops.
Jared said he plans to be available for nearly any event in any location in the Daviess County area — whether that’s a major sports tournament or Friday After 5, or even simply stopping in a neighborhood or at an office building.
The Edmonds — who also own the family-run Budget Blinds of Owensboro — chose Kona for the opportunity to give back.
Jared said nationwide, Kona has been able to give back more than $100 million to the communities they serve. He hopes to be a part of that.
“I did this because I want to stay busy,” he said. “But the main thing is we want to be involved in the community and help out. I am just really excited about that. I love giving back.”
