Hanna Bailey and her family began a blueberry farm in 2000. Four years later they started selling produce at the farmers market. Now, she is opening her first concession trailer called the Bakery Bus.

The owner and baker at Doozie Doez at Blueberries of Daviess County is expanding to the concession trailer to reach more customers throughout the area.

“I began helping my mom make jam and cobblers and loved every second of the baking world,” Bailey said.

So last year, after her parents passed the home baker law, Bailey got her permits and began baking all the desserts she could.

“2020 slowed down our farm tremendously, closing our u-pick patch for the year,” she said. “During that time I had much more time to invest in baking and coming up with new, fun ideas to bring to the blueberry farm.”

She said the family decided to invest in a concession trailer and call it the Bakery Bus.

Bailey said she is excited to bring the venture to the area and is hosting her first pop-up from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at The Red Door.

Bailey said she hopes to have weekly pop-up shops at various locations throughout Daviess County.

“My biggest sellers are variety boxes,” she said. “Everyone loves them because they can try many things at once.”

Bailey also sells stuffed cones, which are waffle cones stuffed with a cake and topped with cheesecake frosting coated in chocolate. She also has doozies, which are mini cookie sandwiches.

“Cake cups, cake balls, cookies, and edible cookie dough are a few more of my most popular items,” Bailey said. “After April, I’ll begin setting up with breakfast and lunch options — grab-n-go style.”

Once blueberries are in season, she will also be offering fresh blueberry tea and lemonade with blueberries from the farm.

Bailey will also deliver treats to the Owensboro area on certain days of the week.

“This is awesome for teacher gifts, pick-me-ups, birthday surprises or even a sweet treat delivered right to you,” she said.

Bailey took to social media last week to thank her husband and parents for making her dream possible.

“The hours put in to make this so perfect means the most to me,” she said.
