A new flower-shop-on-wheels is hitting the streets of Owensboro this month.

The Mobile Meadow is a bright blue 1965 Ford F-100 pickup that has been converted into a vintage flower truck. This spunky truck originally hails from Georgia and is ready to bring the joy of flowers to its new Kentucky home.

Meagan Cooley has been working in the floral industry since 2017. A proud native of Madisonville, Cooley spent the past few years in New York City flowering for events.

She is now back in her home state, elated to bring gorgeous blooms to a larger audience. Using her love of flowers and the training she received working for talented designers in NYC, she is stepping beyond the wedding world to bring happiness through flowers to all of Owensboro.

“I’ve always loved giving and receiving flowers but had never considered working with flowers until I was in a season of life where I had just gotten married and was also in a lot of friends’ weddings,” Cooley said. “I absolutely loved being around the flowers for those events, and it was the first time I realized ‘Hey, it’s someone’s job to create these beautiful bouquets! I would love to do that.'”

She said the house she and her husband were living in at that time also had some fun flowers planted that were blooming, and she couldn’t get enough of them.

“I started exploring with those flowers and the rest is history,” she said.

The flowers that fill The Mobile Meadow are chosen with care to bring joy to and inspire creativity within the community. Some tried-and-true favorites will be for sale, as well as some unique and quirky blooms.

Cooley said her favorite thing to do is to fill the truck with flowers and pop up at different locations around Owensboro.

There are two ways to experience flowers at every pop-up: build-your-own-bouquet bar and grab-and-go wrapped bouquets.

“Although I’m a bit newer to Owensboro, I could tell that it’s a city that values community, creativity, and fun,” Cooley said. “To me, flowers embody all of those things. I believe that they have a special way of fostering connections, inspiring creativity, and bringing joy, and I knew that Owensboro would love to experience flowers in a fun new way.”

You can learn more about The Mobile Meadow on their website: themobilemeadow, or on Facebook or Instagram. They will also share pop-up locations and other announcements on each of those platforms.
