With the acquisition of Home Realty, Inc. set to take effect at the end of June, The Blake Hayden Group is excited to join forces with Connie Lou and Gordon Barnett, as well as their dedicated team of professionals.

“By uniting our brokerages, we will be granting our clients the opportunity to tap into our combined 250+ years of experience and over half a billion dollars in real estate sales,” Blake Hayden said. “We will be expanding our tools and marketing to equip our team with cutting-edge technology and setting them up for long-term success.”

The Barnetts will stay with the company. They said it’s a win for everyone, because they’ll actually have more time to focus on their existing clients.

“We don’t have to worry so much about the management side of the business and it will actually give us more time to spend with our personal clients,” Gordon Barnett said. “That’s an advantage for us.”

The Barnetts bought Home Realty in the mid-1980s and built the current office building located at 3424 Frederica St. in 1986. They said Home Realty is the oldest real estate company in Owensboro.

Connie Lou said The Blake Hayden Group was a good fit because both of the companies’ philosophies are very close in nature. Gordon said the couple is planning on doing everything they can to help the Haydens grow their business.

“We’re really interested in seeing this be very successful because it’s part of our legacy,” Gordon said.

Hayden said in addition to an already high-producing set of residential realtors, the company is in the process of “creating the most dynamic commercial real estate division in our area.” The new division will consist of Ted Belcher, Devin Taylor, Hayden, and Gordon Barnett.

The Blake Hayden Group will also be purchasing a property management company in order to better serve their commercial and residential partners.

“We are now in our prime and ready to establish ourselves as the premier full-service real estate brokerage in Western Kentucky and beyond,” Hayden said.

The Barnetts said that while the realty business has changed over the last 40 years, one thing has remained the same.

“The biggest thing in the real estate business is your personal contact,” he said. “If you take care of the people you work with, the relationships will last forever. They will keep coming back to you.”
