On July 11, Owensboro will welcome its first of two “selfie museums” coming this year. At 3DK Selfie Expressions, owner Dianesia Palmer wants to provide everyone with the opportunity to take great quality photos.

Palmer said 3DK Selfie Expressions (1713 W. 9th St.) has enough room for 10 to 12 themes and hopefully will be expanding to 14. Right now she has pop, culture, Kentucky, basketball and many other themes.

“Everybody can’t afford an expensive photoshoot, but with my selfie museum, I can give you that look. When you go out of there with your pictures, you’ll have them in your phone, you can upload them to whatever website you want to,” Palmer said. “I want that picture to turn out — for your time and for your money — exactly the way that you want it.”

Palmer offers the lighting and background, allowing guests to take photos on their phones with plenty of outlets to keep them charged.

Starting July 12, the hours are 12-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 12-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Sundays will be open to appointments like birthdays and other group events. Palmer said for appointments she will offer the cake and the activities, and then allow two hours to snap photos at each location.

The ideas for the themes came from what she knows her kids like but also what people her age likes, with Palmer saying she loves taking pictures and that did a photoshoot for her birthday.

While they will technically open July 11, Palmer said that day will be for her family and friends to celebrate.

“That’s the time for me, my family, my friends, the ones that helped me get this together, I want them to be there with me as well. And we’re gonna cut it, come in so that everybody can see the finished product,” Palmer said. “And then on Monday, I’ll be ready.”
