Hafer Design, a regional leader in architecture and design,  is embarking on its 14th year in Owensboro. The firm began in Evansville in 1978 and will open a new office in Columbus, Ohio, as early as next month.

The design group acquired Collignon and Nunley in 2008 and operated on Frederica Street before moving to their current location at the intersection of 2nd and Allen streets. The firm boasts eight local employees and more than 50 employees company-wide that possess a wide range of skill sets.

“We offer services in architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, electrical and mechanical engineering, planning, and sustainable design,” said Senior Associate and Architect Ket West. “We are involved in a wide range of projects, and we’re always looking for new opportunities to expand our level of services.”

The Owensboro office serves all of western Kentucky, with prominent projects including the recently constructed Boardwalk Pipeline and Bluegrass Museum and Hall of Fame & Museum buildings. Other notable projects include a recent partnership with Kentucky Wesleyan College and a series of projects with the Green River Intra-County Transit System (GRITS).

The firm also takes great pride in being an integral part of the community, striving to make a positive impact in various ways.

“We are big believers in that wherever you live and work; you should be involved,” West said. “It’s a good thing for the community around us if we are involved, influencing growth and change that make a positive impact on our community.”

West said their team of experts works alongside each other to create spaces that remedy problems and inspire for years to come. He added that they integrate their clients into every phase of a project, ensuring they understand each service and how it can solve their problems.

The group’s holistic approach makes them the perfect fit for projects of any size, operating under the mantra of “We’re always available. Always.”
