With the holiday season quickly approaching, local businesses are showcasing their products and services with open houses this weekend and next. Our Hometown Holiday Open House is a guide for shoppers to know when to visit their favorite local stores, or check out a new one. We’ve divided the guide into four sections: Downtown, Eastside, Westside and Midtown.

The Open House list for Midtown can be found below (if your store isn’t listed, please contact us here).

Natasha Stanley, owner of Bella Ragazza Boutique, said their Open House weekend is always one of the busiest of the year.

“We love having the community come out and shop at local stores, get in the Holiday spirit, and see what trends and must-have items we’ve stocked up on for the season,” she said. “Shopping local businesses is always important. Supporting your friends and neighbors in the community leads to growth. Seeing Owensboro grow with entrepreneurs that put their hearts and money back in the community is so special.”

Sharon Wilson, who co-owns Julep Home and Gift with her daughter Elizabeth, said they are excited for their first Open House since opening in Wesleyan Park Plaza earlier this year.

“We are looking forward to showcasing our store to new customers during Open House weekend,” she said. “Julep Home and Gift offers many brands new to Owensboro and we are excited to introduce them to our community.”

She said shopping locally isn’t just important for the business, as it also offers something for the consumers.

“Customers can examine and compare items for quality and value firsthand, eliminate shipping costs and delays, and avoid last-minute cancellations,” she said.

Bella Ragazza and Julep Home and Gift will both offer free gift wrapping and delivery, with both owners saying they want every person to feel cared for and to ensure an easy and enjoyable process.

Stanley and Wilson also both said that they stocked up in advance in anticipation of shipping delays so customers should have plenty of items from which to choose.
