Jerry Ray Davis Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is celebrating the grand opening of their new location today. The dealership, previously located at the corner of 4th and Frederica streets, now sits at 3900 Frederica next to the former Texas Gas building.

General Manager Amber Calloway said she is excited to celebrate the opening of the new location, as it brings a chance to rebrand the dealership and welcome the entire community into their space.

“We are starting fresh at Jerry Ray Davis, rebranding the whole place. We’ve got extra cars in and we are trying to welcome everybody — not just people buying cars,” Calloway said.

According to their website, every car sold allows $50 to be given back to the community to help abused and underprivelged children.

“We are a proud supporter of CASA,” owner Jerry Ray Davis said. “We are dedicated to making the community we live in a better place for all of us, one car at a time.”

The celebration will include several food trucks — Metropolis, Real Hacienda, Freaky Tiki Shaved Ice, Tri-R-Tips BBQ, and Hodges Curbside Creamery.

“Everyone knew the downtown location as what used to be Steve Jones. Someone new has taken over so we want to celebrate the fresh start, building the community around that,” Calloway said. “We want the community to feel welcome here, to buy here, and want to have their service here.”

Guests will have the opportunity to tour the new building, visit the Shriners who will be making balloons, and purchase meals from the food trucks until 4 p.m. American Idol contestant Dakota Hayden will also be on site performing live music.

“We want to make sure everyone knows they are friends and family to us. We are going to make sure our sales and service departments deliver a ‘wow moment instead of that ‘whatever’ experience you get at other car lots,” Davis said.

While the staff is excited about starting fresh, they are also looking forward to what the relocation is bringing to the community.

“We are happy to have a new building,” Calloway said. “It’s brand new. I am also personally excited because it’s something new being brought to our town and it’s brought in quite a bit of employment. It’s a nice place to go and have your service done — an easy and stress-free environment.”
