What started out as tattooing eyebrows on cancer patients in 2018 has turned into something bigger for Tara Fitzgerald. She is the owner and cosmetic/medical tattooist at Ms. Fitz Beauty Bar, and earlier this years she completed AreolaPro tattoo training with one of the United Kingdom’s award-winning areola nipple tattooists.
So along with promoting confidence through a variety of services at the Beauty Bar, Fitzgerald has expanded her offerings to now include 3D nipple tattooing for breast cancer patients.
In 2018, she launched a program called “Pay with a Smile.”
“This program allowed cancer survivors to come in and have their eyebrows tattooed on for free,” Fitzgerald said. “Many of them had lost all of their eyebrow hair due to the chemo. My time spent with these clients is really what sparked my interest in 3D areola tattooing. Their stories moved me and I wanted to be able to help put the pieces back together for them.”
The full-service beauty bar promotes a variety of services including permanent eyebrows, eyeliner and lips, massage, esthetics, dermal filler, Botox, hair services and bridal services.
Fitzgerald received her initial certification in permanent makeup in 2017 and then went on to improve her skills at the world-renowned Beau Institute in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, followed by another course at Girlz Ink in Las Vegas Nevada.
She is currently taking referrals from Janae Kittinger at Owensboro Health Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. She also offers this service to clients privately or in coordination with other surgery centers.
