Firefighters from three counties responded to a fire at the mobile home of John and Christin Henry and their three children in Reynolds Station at 1 a.m. on July 7. The youngest child, Ivy Henry, 2, was found dead inside the home. And although John-Ross, 4, and Ireland, 7, did escape the fire, they later died from their injuries at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Parents, John and Christen, survived the fire.

Community support for the Henry family has been displayed across the region. Crowds lined Highway 54 through Whitesville as the funeral procession for the three Henry children made its way from Owensboro to Ohio County. Hundreds of people showed up with pink and blue balloons, which were released as the family drove by.

A Go Fund Me page was set up by Christin’s sister and at the time of publishing totaled over $135,000.
