The Germantown walls have recently received a facelift thanks to the generous donations of several businesses and organizations.

Owensboro Transit System Manager, Pamela Canary, said the Germantown walls are owned by the homeowners in this area and not the City.

“This is not City property,” Canary said. “The City took it upon itself to apply for grant monies to help make the necessary repairs for the homeowners.”

The grant was through Home Depot in order to cover the cost of supplies to replace the existing stone and apply plaster.

Canary reached out to Wilkerson Plastering asking if they would be interested in donating the labor for this project.

“They were eager to help the community,” Canary said.

The City provided the labor to remove the loose stone, but the project did not include any building façade work.
