Halloween is typically a holiday where people dress up to impersonate characters, whether it be from books, movies or television. Owensboro Times thought it would be fun to put together a short list of people that don’t necessarily have to dress up to be mistaken for celebrities.

Madison Silvert – Tom Hanks

Malcolm Bryant Corporation President Madison Silvert has been told on multiple occasions that his similarities to actor Tom Hanks are uncanny.

“There are so many stories,” Silvert said. “From the group of young ladies in China who wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer, to the young Indian man in New Zealand who had to call his wife (to tell her he met Tom Hanks).”

When Silvert was asked how he responded to the instances of mistaken identity he said, “I just embraced it years ago and almost always go as a Hanks character for Halloween.”

Silvert said, thanks to the Hanks-portrayed David S. Pumpkins character on Saturday Night Live, he now has a costume for every year.

Kendall Moore – Miley Cyrus

Kendall Moore, a teacher at Country Heights Elementary School, University of Kentucky grad and daughter of Kelly and David Moore, was told from a young age she looked like Miley. The children she babysat who watched “Hannah Montana,” saw the resemblance, saying she even had Miley’s quirky laugh.

Also, Moore’s aunt, Nancy Malone, would always say, “I don’t know if I’ve told you, but goodness you look just like Miley Cyrus.” Moore says her aunt has been saying it since Cyrus’ “Hannah Montana” days, although Cyrus’ image evolved shortly thereafter.

Byron McDonald – John Cena

Retired Owensboro Fire Department firefighter Byron McDonald said that he has been compared to John Cena for years.

There was the car full of people begging for autographs in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., a family whispering amongst themselves before approaching him in Florida and several instances when traveling through airports.

The story that McDonald found most amusing concerned a woman that worked for WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment).

“She saw me from a distance and got within 8-10 feet of me before she realized I wasn’t him,” McDonald said.

DCPS Federal Programs Coordinator and Ironwoman Shelly Hammons said, after the royal engagement between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, multiple people have mentioned the resemblance she bears to Meghan.

Several friends took to Facebook following the royal wedding noting the striking similarities, especially when Meghan wore her hair up, as Hammons often does.
