Through the month of October, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Ohio Valley is and its sister organization, Friends of CASA, will be collecting new socks and tights for children. Friends of CASA came up with this idea to prepare for winter.

“They aren’t just for CASA kids, but for local kids in need,” said Rosemary Conder, CASA’s Executive Director.

CASA serves 100 kids and then identifies schools that need additional help through the Family Resource Centers. Because Foust and Estes elementaries do not have Parent Teacher Organizations, CASA extends services to them.

“We have already gotten over 100 pairs of socks,” Condor said. “Our community is incredibly generous.”

Items may be dropped off at three locations: the CASA Office at 415 St. Ann St., Custom Audio-Video at 2802 New Hartford Rd., and Express Employment Professionals at 1900 Triplett St. People can also message CASA on Facebook or call the CASA office for free pick up.

Soctober will run for the whole month of October.
