Owensboro experiencing widespread Spectrum internet outage

Widespread Spectrum internet outages reported.

UPDATE: Spectrum customers in the area are expecting video, internet and phone outages due to a damaged fiber cable. Fiber crews are working to repair the damaged cable. Spectrum is unable to provide an estimated wait time.

Owensboro Times subscribers with Spectrum internet are reporting widespread internet outages. Owensboro Times has been unable to reach Spectrum as phone lines were consistently busy.

While Spectrum was not available by phone, several customers from the Bowling Green, Evansville, Newburgh, Rockport and Owensboro areas did take to Twitter to voice their concerns.

Owensboro Times was able to locate several tweets that spoke to the outage.

From the @Ask_Spectrum‏ Twitter account:
“Our apologies about the service interruption. Our technicians are currently working to restore services & we appreciate your patience during this time. If you would like us to take a look into your specific services, please Follow/DM us your account number & service address.”

Owensboro Times found another tweet that read:
Spectrum outage is due to a cut fiber outside of Louisville that feeds all of Western Kentucky and the Evansville area. With no estimated time of repair.

Owensboro Times was unable to reach Spectrum to confirm.
