OPD responds to robbery call, employee charged with fabrication

On Thursday, Dec. 20, at approximately 07:50 a.m., the Owensboro Police Department responded to the Family Dollar located at 2415 West Parrish Avenue on a report of an armed robbery.

After interviewing the employee who reported the robbery, she eventually admitted to fabricating the robbery and stealing money from the store over the course of several months.

Carmilla Settles, 39, of Owensboro was charged with Theft by Failure to make Required Disposition of Property over $500 and Falsely Reporting an Incident.
