Winter Weather Advisory issued, Flood Warning continues

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from midnight tonight to noon, CST, Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Paducah.

Mixed precipitation is expected, including a period of light freezing rain. Ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch are expected, and snow accumulations, if any, should be less than an inch.

This will affect all of southwest Indiana and northwest Kentucky.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

Minor to moderate flooding is now forecast along the entire Lower Ohio River river. Additional heavy rain is forecast early next week.

The Flood Warning continues for the Ohio River at Newburgh Dam until further notice.

At 10 a.m. Saturday the stage was 39.2 feet. The Flood Stage is 38.0 feet. Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.

The river will continue rising to near 45.7 feet by the 16th of February.
