The Owensboro Police Department is investigating several incidents of vandalism at city parks.

According to OPD Public Information Officer Andrew Boggess, vandalism was reported at Moreland Park, the Bell House that houses 14 News across from the RiverPark Center and the new parking garage. A water fountain valued at $850 was also reported stolen from Smothers Park.

“All has happened since the beginning of the month.” Boggess said.

OPD posted photos on social media of surveillance footage that shows a vehicle, appearing to be a blue Ford Mustang, which they believe to be involved.

The social media post asked citizens who may have any information about the suspects to please call OPD at 270-687-8888, or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 270-687-8484.

Boggess said OPD has received a few tips, but so far they have not lead to an arrest. At this time, OPD is not sure if each of the incidents are related.

“We are still looking for video on a few of them to see if we can get more to put out or identify,” Boggess said.
