For Debbi Taylor of Utica, “ponies” are more than just a hobby. For as long as the Daviess County native can remember she has been passionate about horses — well, animals in general.

A childhood trip to the Kentucky State Fair would be the beginning of a lifelong adoration that has endured well into adulthood.

“I remember as a child visiting the fair with my parents and having a ride pass for the attractions,” Debbi Taylor said. “I would use the pass for the pony rides. I would get off and then get straight back in line. My love for horses started then.”

As owner of Equestrian Enterprises, Taylor now gets to share a version of that childhood experience with others at locations in both Utica and Bardstown. Provided at an all-in-one outdoor facility, family fun is top priority. In addition to horse and pony rides, a petting zoo is available on site with a variety of different animals. The farm is home to alpacas, donkeys, goats, sheep, wallabies and tortoises just to name a few.

“All of our animals have distinct personalities and traits, often people are fascinated by them,” Taylor said.

Horseback riding lessons are also a service provided on site, as well as horse boarding for clients. Beginning each spring, Riding Camps are also offered that provide a variety of horse-related knowledge for all ability levels.

Aside from offering an “equestrian’s paradise” at each of their farms, Equestrian Enterprises also travels. Taking the fun out into the community for private events and parties, a “mobile magic” is created for children and adults alike.

Through an up close and personal experience, clients of Equestrian Enterprises can expect to the very best in family entertainment.

“In today’s time, there seems to be such a disconnect with farm culture,” Taylor said. “Very seldom do many children or adults for that matter get to see animals, real animals, let alone this up close. We strive to bridge that gap.”

Pony carousels and decorated “unicorns” continue to be crowd favorites at birthday parties. Taylor hopes the experiences her animals help create endear well into the future.

“It’s remarkable to see the connection that is made when children begin to interact with our animals,” Taylor said. “I never get tired of seeing those moments.”
