A joint press conference will be held between Owensboro Police Department and the U.S. Attorney’s office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.

While local law enforcement cannot release any specifics at this point, sources believe the press conference may focus on recapping a number of recent indictments that involved firearms and drug trafficking. Whether all the charges were made against local individuals has not yet been confirmed.

Sources say five individuals were federally indicted on Tuesday, while another two individuals were indicted on drug-related charges.

The U.S. Attorney’s office is believed to be handling the federal indictments involved in this case.
