The City of Owensboro is preparing for the fourth annual Owensboro Parent Magazine Kids Triathlon presented by Independence Bank and hosted by Owensboro Health on Saturday, July 27, 2019 beginning at 7:30 a.m.

“We are excited to support Owensboro Parent Magazine again this year in bringing a triathlon focused on the kids in our community. More than 200 kids from around the region are scheduled to participate,” said Tim Ross, Director of Public Events for the City of Owensboro.

Ross would like to remind residents that streets will be closed around the Owensboro Health Healthpark the morning of the race. Ford Avenue between Lexington Avenue and S. Griffith Avenue, as well as Mayfair Avenue between Ford Avenue and Booth Avenue, will be closed from 6 a.m. until approximately 10:30 a.m. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes, avoid areas along the race course, allow for extra driving time, and proceed with caution on streets near the race course.

Major streets impacted from 7:30 a.m. until approximately 10:30 a.m. will be Ford Avenue, Booth Avenue, S. Griffith Avenue, and College Drive among others. For more information on the Owensboro Parent Magazine Kids Triathlon and for a visual of the course to see which streets will be affected, please visit the event website.
