Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky is celebrating their in-patient facility, the Heartford House with a to-go lunch fundraising event on July 25.

The Heartford House has been serving hospice patients and families since October, 2013.  All proceeds from this event will go toward the landscaping efforts at the Heartford House.

Brenda Knollenberg, development manager for the Heartford House, said there are almost 11 acres to care for at the Heartford House.

“Our volunteer landscape committee does an excellent job taking care of the property,” she said. “We have beautiful flower beds, a certified monarch butterfly station, and beautiful garden planters here at the Heartford House.”

Help from the community is essential for their landscaping efforts, Knollenberg said.

“Almost all of the funds for landscaping projects are either from specific fundraising events, or through generous donors who designate their gifts for use by the landscape committee,” she said.

The grilled hamburger box lunches can be purchased at http://bidpal.net/heartfordhousecelebration2019, and will be available for pick up from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. July 25 at the Heartford House, 2914 Old Hartford Road.

Lunches cost $10 and consist of a hamburger, side, dessert and drink. Local delivery to business groups of 10 or more is available within Owensboro city limits on a limited basis.

Tours of the Heartford House will also be available during the event.

“We hope the entire community can come out, enjoy lunch and support efforts to continue to make the grounds of the Heartford House not only beautiful, but also a place of peace and calming for the patients and families who are served here,” Knollenberg said.

Sponsors of the Heartford House Celebration include James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence Bank, Glenn Family Services, Hafer and Associates, Miller Schapmire Funeral Home, Financial Freedom Partners, Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory, and Integrity Testing and Inspection, Inc.
