Safe Ride KY has officially given over 7,391 rides in the State of Kentucky and, thanks to local sponsor O.Z. Tyler Distillery, Owensboro residents have an opportunity to take part in a free safe ride this Fourth of July.
The mission of Safe Ride KY is to end impaired driving by providing free Lyft rides. O.Z. Tyler is encouraging residents to celebrate their freedom, but not lose it by driving impaired.
The distillery is offering free Lyft rides from 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 3 until 5 a.m. Friday, July 5.
It is no surprise O.Z. Tyler is teaming up with Safe Ride KY as the organization was founded by the Kentucky Distillers’ Association in 2017.
The 501c4 organization believes that safe ride initiatives can empower individuals to make responsible choices and decrease the number of DUI cases within communities like Owensboro.
“We think it’s important for Owensboro residents to have a safe ride this Fourth of July and we are proud to support such an initiative,” said Haley Stoermer, office coordinator at O.Z. Tyler Distillery. “O.Z. Tyler has been heavily involved in the community and this is our way of giving back in a sense. We encourage residents to take advantage of their safe ride and support O.Z. Tyler Distillery.”
