A truckload of food was donated Friday to Friends of Sinners, who then gave it away to those in need within the local community.

The donation came from Joliet Hope Center, a ministry based out of Joliet, Ill., with the objective to share the gospel through the giving of food. The donation included fresh produce such as apples, oranges, tomatoes and vegetables.

Friends of Sinners, a local drug recovery program, took food to the local soup kitchens, other recovery programs and food banks. Afterward, staff and clients met at Church for All and gave the rest of the food away to anyone who showed up.

“All of us at Friends of Sinners want to show our community that we are here to make Owensboro an even better place,” said Jordan Wilson, Friends of Sinners Development Director.
