Hospice of Western Kentucky is inviting the members to join them for their annual memorial service on Dec. 3, but this year individuals may attend from the comfort of their own home.

The service will be an entirely virtual event streamed from the Hospice Facebook page beginning at 6 p.m., and will remain available for viewing thereafter.

The event is for anyone who has lost a loved one, and is not limited to those who have received hospice or palliative care from the organization.

According to Hospice Bereavement Coordinator Caleb Potter, this year has been unusually hard on individuals grieving the loss of a family member or friend.

“It has been a uniquely difficult year, and if someone has lost a loved one, that has only further compounded their hardships,” Potter said. “We want to invite individuals to join us to commemorate their loved ones while also receiving words of comfort and encouragement from members of our community.”

Potter added, “This memorial service is for the benefit of everyone in our community,” Potter said. “We want to help all of those individuals and families who may be grieving this year.”

There will also be a memorial slideshow during the event. Photos of loved ones to be included in the slideshow should be emailed in a .jpg format to [email protected] no later than Friday.
