Unable to host their traditional on-stage musical, Bellevue Baptist Church instead turned one pastors dream into a full film centered around the miracle of Christmas.

J.P. Kwok, worship pastor at Bellevue, had a dream in August of how to minister to the community despite the cancellation of the church’s normal Christmas program.

“I was dreaming about what we could do to continue to minister to our community,” he said. “On Aug. 8 I just felt like God gave me a dream about this story. And I woke up at 1:30 in the morning and wrote down as many notes as I could and I started outlining it in five chapters.”

The story he is talking about is “The Christmas Key,” an e-book and movie produced by Kwok and members of the church.

The story is about a girl who has experienced a loss of a family member, and then COVID-19 hit.  She is struggling to find purpose this Christmas.

Then meaning of Christmas is unlocked through a magical dream.

In less than four months, the movie went from an idea to completion. The 56-minute film can be found on Bellevue’s website or The Christmas Key Facebook page. The e-book and audio book can also be found on the church’s website.
