The Owensboro Fire Department on Thursday announced the recipients of their 2020 Annual Awards. The honors are determined by a vote of the members of their department.
Recipients are:
- Andy Shively, Rookie of the Year
- Jeremy Mahoney, Firefighter of the Year
- Dakota Bratcher, EMS Responder of the Year
- Matt Cissell, Engineer of the Year
- Corey Gant and Richard Peach, Officers of the Year (tie)
OFD also recognized the following personnel who received Certificates of Merit:
- Colter Tate, for “Outstanding Contributions to the Health, Safety, and Operations of the City of Owensboro and the Owensboro Fire Department During the COVID-19 Pandemic”
- Chris York, for “Outstanding Contributions to the Communications Projects of the Owensboro Fire Department to Include Our Radio System, Mobile Data Terminals, and Active 911”
“These gentlemen are part of team at OFD that has done a lot of great work over the past year to make our city safe,” officials wrote in a Facebook post about the awards. “They are a credit to the uniform and role models among our ranks and in our community.”
