The Boulware Mission is celebrating its 100th anniversary next month, and executive director Leigha Taylor said it was the perfect time to start fresh with a new brand.

The Mission will be unveiling a new brand at noon on May 3 at 609 Wing Avenue. This event will also serve as the kickoff to the anniversary month celebrations.

Boulware Mission will officially celebrate its 100th anniversary on May 23.

“The Mission’s old logo is a little outdated and doesn’t fit the direction of the Mission as well as it used to,” Taylor said. “For example, we’ve received feedback indicating that the purple color was a little feminine, so we wanted to find something a little more gender-neutral.”

Kelsey Ray with Celestite Design Studio is the designer behind the new brand.

Taylor said the Mission and the designer wanted to, “develop a story that better reflects the clientele of Boulware, as well as brings it new life with a modern, eye-catching and clean look that would be versatile and timeless.”

Supporters, friends of the Mission, and former volunteers and clients are all encouraged to attend the May 3 event.

“It will be a short event – similar to a ribbon-cutting or groundbreaking,” Taylor said. “But full of meaning for the Mission.”
