The Daviess County Public Library is hosting two programs for teens this week. One will be focused on health eating, while the other provides information about financial planning.

TEEN HEALTHY EATING PROGRAM

From 6:30-730 p.m. Monday, in partnership with Girls Inc., DCPL will be hosting a healthy eating program.

DCPL is inviting teens to attend a healthy eating program, hosted by Ashley Agada of Girls Inc. This will be an in-person event, and participants will learn how to make better food choices, and how to make better decisions when it comes to eating habits.

Participants in the program will learn how to make apple doughnuts, and one attendee will receive a copy of the How-To Cookbook for Teens.

Seating is limited due to COVID-19 restrictions, so those interested in attending are encouraged to visit the dcplibrary.org events page and reserve their seat.

DCPL AND GERMAN AMERICAN BANK HOSTING TEEN FINANCIAL PLANNING PROGRAM

The Daviess County Public Library and German American Bank are inviting teens ages 13-18 to join them at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday for their teen financial planning program, Cents and Sensibility.

“We know that with the arrival of summer, many teens will be entering the workforce, many for the first time,” said Tiffani Henry, Public Relations Coordinator for DCPL. “And those that will be working will be receiving their first paychecks, and may not have an idea on how to manage their money. That is why we have partnered with German American Bank on hosting this event which will focus on how to manage your money properly.”

This 90-minute program, will be held in person and live-streamed on the DCPL Facebook page.

It will cover topics such as how to apply for a loan, how to invest money wisely, and how to open a checking and savings account.

One attendee will win a Harry Potter coin bank and a copy of the book The Teen Money Manual.

To register for the in-person option, visit dcplibrary.org, visit the events page and click on the event Cents and Sensibility.
